The above pictures show a couple of simple soundboard shimming repairs in process.   The following pictures of a Steinway B show just how ridiculous trying to save a soundboard can be.

The following two pictures show the repaired soundboard and then the new strings installed.  This Steinway B sounds much better with its soundboard repaired but the owner has no idea of the kind of improved tone the piano would have had with a new soundboard.  The piano would sound like "thunder over the mountains".
